“Highly recommended” […] “Never heard the Cavaillé-Coll of St Ouen handled so adeptly” […] “Loreto Aramendi gets to the heart of all these pieces with effortless style and considerable flair” […] Louis Robilliard provides masterful arrangments of works including Rachmaninov’s L’île des morts and Fauré’s suite Pelléas et Mélisande.

Review by
in the ResMusica Music Magazine of octuber 2017 of the double CD “Transcriptions” by Loreto Aramendi, recorded at the Abbatiale of Saint Ouen of Rouen, on the Aristide Cavaillé-Coll pipe organ.“Version of reference” […] “a Audio Magic trick” […] “Orchestral magic” […] “Success up to the paroxysm with the Symphonic poem of Rachmaninov” […] “Recital deeply achieved”.
[…] “Loreto Aramendi propose a very attractive program of transcriptions. The pipe organ instead of an archestra fit well in this magical recording of some of most emblematic pieces.
The Danse macabre of Saint-Saëns, Funérailles of Liszt, L’île des morts of Rachmaninov, Pelléas of Fauré, perfectly adapted by Louis Robillard ring so well that we forget that it is an organ !
The illusion is complete !” […]
“Loreto Aramendi enter in theses sound fresco with conviction and a strong art of discourse who project the deep intentions of the original texts.
The example of Funérailles of Liszt show how the pieces so tragic at the piano can reveal her as immense and cdivine on the king of the instrument (the organ).
Loreto Aramendi give us a version of reference.
The trio Rachmaninov-Robillard-Aramendi leads to a success up to his paroxysm with the “poème symphonique” of Rachmaninov.
The pipe organ join the orchestra and overtake him on the subtility of nuances and the ambiance of the long nave of Saint-Ouen.” […]
